Usually, they officially start releasing and publishing the names of candidates offered admission, and the JAMB admission List starting from October to December.

When Will JAMB Stop Giving Admission For 2024?

For candidates who are eager to know when JAMB will stop giving admission this year 2024, I want you to know this. There’s absolutely no set date. However, it’s usually before the commencement of first semester, or mid-week of the first semester, so students offered admission will not have to stress themselves, trying to caught up with their fellow first-year students.

Over the years, we’ve discovered that JAMB usually stops giving candidate admission during the 2nd week of January till Late January. However, the Jamb Caps Portal, which is solely responsible for admission process in Nigeria (where candidates must go to ACCEPT or REJECT admission), is usually shut down and stop giving admission between the last week of January – last week of the month of February for 2024/25.

When Will JAMB CAPS Portal Start Giving Admission?

Jamb starts releasing the names of candidates offered admission after every academic institutions have conducted either their Post UTME examination, or screening. The institutions will have to submit the names of candidates who scored up to their fixed cut off marks/point or above to JAMB. All Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and the colleges of Education either conduct Post-UTME screening or examination.

All schools who want to conduct screening exercise will start inviting candidates who selected the school as their preferred institution, or did a Change of Institution (this is done by buying the JAMB change of institution form, and reselecting another institution as your preferred choice) and scored the cutoff marks or above it for the Post UTME screening.

When Will Universities Start Giving Admission For 2024/2025?

Over the years, we’ve discovered that Nigerian Universities start publishing and releasing the names of candidates offered admission during 3rd week of September – 27th of January. Most Nigerian universities stops offering admission last week of January.

Once the school you selected as your preferred choice are done with their Post UTME screening, that is when you should start expecting the University to send the names of candidates they deem eligible for admission to JAMB. After JAMB have vet these names, both the University and JAMB will publish an admission list, containing names of candidates offered admission.

Important Factors You Should Consider:

The Nigerian admission process is easy to understand. First, you need to buy the JAMB form, register and start preparing for your examination. During your registration, you’ll be asked to select two academic institutions you want to attend (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education). Private and Public institutions are allowed.

Next, you sit for the examination, and try your best to score high. Candidates who scored up to their selected schools cut off marks will be invited and allowed to register for their selected University/Polytechnics Post UTME screening.
