Unilorin Method of Admission 2023 .
Every JAMB applicant who selected the University of Ilorin during his/her UTME registration should take note, that for your admission application to be successful, you need to know the method of admission into Unilorin. Two factors that will be taken into consideration in order to determine the candidates by the school administration is as follows and mentioned below:
The JAMB score.
So if you’re planning on studying medicine and surgery, then you need to score as high as 250 Plus in your JAMBÂ result. You should also keep in mind that the competition is quite high this year in Unilorin.
So for you to be admitted on merit, you should have a good score. Please take note that different universities have different JAMB cut off marks, depending majorly on the number of candidates applying for admission into the school. However, for tertiary institutions like the University of Ilorin, you will need to score a minimum of 180 to be accepted. However, if you were able to score 220 and above, it is considered a good score.
Do take note, that there are some courses/departments which will put a score of 180 – 200 as their cut-off mark. So you have a better chance if you get a high JAMB score in your jamb result.

The O level result.
This is another important phase most candidates overlook. Institutions like Unilorin, Unizik, etc are looking at taking the best candidates only. What this entails is that the institution’s admission board will be looking for candidates with the highest jamb scores and the best O’level results.
Note here that the O’level result carries a total of 50 marks. You need to remember that each grade has different marks. For example:
A may carry 8 marks;
B may carry 5 or 4 marks;
C may carry 2 marks.
SO as it is plainly in your view, having too many C’s in your o’level result, whether it’s Waec, Neco, etc, will surely have a significant disadvantage. On the other hand, with enough A’s, you will get higher marks and have more chances to be accepted into the institution. This means, the higher the better.
You need to be way above the cut-off mark to be on the safe side if you plan on being admitted into the prestigious University of Ilorin.
