UNILAG JAMB Cut off Mark and Admission 2021.

After scrapping of the post UTME by the federal government, the Joints Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) had given a benchmark of 180 and above for candidates applying for Universities, 150 for all Polytechnics applicants and Colleges of Education.

Following recent trends, I discovered that in 2016, the University of Lagos actually increased her cut off marks above the JAMB proposed cut off mark, due to the large number of applicants who selected the institution as their first choice during JAMB REGISTRATION.

It seems like the institution has learned from her mistakes since the Unilag jamb cut off mark is 180 for the 2021/2022 academic session.

However, you should know that the 180 cut off point does not apply to all courses/departments. Candidates with higher JAMB scores are first considered for admission, while candidates with lower scores that went for courses like Medicine and Surgery, Law, Engineering, etc do need higher JAMB scores.

In fact, it is the higher your scores, the higher the chance of being admitted into the University of Lagos.

UNILAG Departmental Cut off Mark 2021.

As disclosed in the above paragraph, the University of Lagos does not really have a specific fixed cut off mark for courses and departments. However, candidates who have scored a minimum of 180 in UTME examination should note that they are qualified and eligible to apply for admission into any of their choice courses.

But it does not mean you will be admitted. it is better to get that you go for courses that you know you will get admitted with your jamb scores.

I know, you may think I am crazy, because you chose your course before writing the UTME examination, should you had absolutely no idea what you will score in JAMB. But hey, cut me some slacks, because you can get the JAMB change of course/institution.

It is no secret that the University of Lagos is one of the most preferred institutions in the country, meaning that the admission processes are competitive and an admission is given based on JAMB score and your O’level grades.

Below are courses offered in the university as well as their cut off mark;

  1. 220 – 240 – Medicine (O’ Level result with one sitting only) and Nursing
  2. 200 – Mass Communication, Common Law, Pharmacy, Anatomy, Physiology
  3. 190 – Computer Science, English Language, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Geology, all engineering courses except Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering.
  4. 180 – All other courses.

UNILAG Admission Screening 2021.

You should be aware that the University of Lagos holds her admission screening exercises within a week or a couple of weeks and it normally comes in two different stages.

All qualified and eligible students, (candidates who scored 180 in UTME JAMB) who applied to study in the school are required to proceed for the pre-screening exercise when announced.

Also take note that there are some documents which are required for the pre-screening exercise, and they are:

  • SSCE result,
  • JAMB registration print out.

These are the only two documents required. Also, note that each candidate will be screened based on their JAMB scores and their SSCE result.

Likewise, the second phase of the screening is after the admission lists have been released and published online. Candidates who have merited the admission will be invited for another screening exercise. Here all documents which are required;
