The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially disclosed that they are the problem of candidates who are finding it difficult to check their results. The board said that candidates who are still unable to check their UTME result should blame their GSM service providers.
Speaking on this issue raised by candidates and their parents across Nigeria, the UTME Board’s Head on Media and Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said that the JAMB boardJAMB board was already aware of the problem and had consequently summoned a meeting with all GSM service providers within the country.

Here is exactly what Dr. Fabian said and I quote below;
“They have assured the board that they are working hard to get the issue addressed and that in no distant time, candidates should be able to access their results without having or experiencing any hitch,” Benjamin said of the outcome of the Board’s meeting with the GSM service providers on Monday, 14th May 2019.
Thousands of candidates of the 2019 UTME had been experiencing several technical challenges that has made them unable to check their results and see their scores.
The UTME board which conducted the examination, clearly admitted the problem, but said it was working in collaboration with telephone service providers to resolve the glitches, but said that all 2019 UTME candidates should blame their network providers 100% for any technical glitches they are experiencing after sending the dedicated codes.
Notably, on Saturday when the board announced that they have released results of 2019 UTME candidates, but the checking method is quite different. The board directed candidates who partook in the exercise to use the same telephone number used in registering for the examination to access their results by sending ‘RESULT’ Surname Middle Name and Last Name to code ‘55019.’
Speaking on this issue, the JAMB head on Media and Information said and I quote; “We are just trying to ensure that all the candidates deserving of results should have firsthand information of their performance via their telephones.
“It is after that, that we will go ahead and post the result of all candidates on our website for candidates to go ahead and print their result (also Original JAMB result).
“We are just trying to safeguard these results from the activities of fraudsters who will be asking candidates to provide money to upgrade their result.
“We want candidates to know their scores first, so that on getting to print them out at the business centres, there would not be anything funny on their slips,’’ the JAMB spokesman explained.
A total of about 1.82 Million candidates registered for the examination, while 1,792,719 of them had their results released by the Board. However, a total of 49,265 results were withheld for examination malpractice.
Out of the 49,265 candidates result withheled, 15,145 results are undergoing further clarification as in the case of identical twins and siblings. More results will soon be released.
