According to information reaching our news desk, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the official JAMB 2024 cut-off marks for all Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. According to the JAMB registrar, Professor Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, who disclosed that the general and official JAMB cut off mark is 140 for 2024.

The JAMB boss disclosed that institutions are allowed to increase their cut-off marks for admission, but could not lessen it. Schools that increase their cut-off marks have a higher number of candidates that choose the school as their preferred (1st choice) institution during JAMB registration. Institutions like UNIBEN, OAU, UNILAG, UI, UNIZIK, UNIPORT, etc.

JAMB Cut Off Mark For Universities 2024.

The 2024 official JAMB Cut off Mark for all Universities in Nigeria is 140. This means that no University in Nigeria can to set their cut-off mark for admission below 140.

However, some Universities, especially federal universities like Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), University of Benin (UNIBEN), and the University of Ibadan (UI), set their Cut off mark to 200 for all courses.

State universities like Ambrose Alli Univesity (AAU), Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) and Delta State University (DELSU) prefer to stick to the JAMB minimum cut-off score of 140.

Private universities are finding their feet, and do not have lots of candidates seeking admission into them. This is why most private universities stick to the official JAMB minimum cut-off mark of 140.

JAMB Cut Off Mark For Polytechnics

According to the July 2024 Meeting where the official 2024 JAMB cut off mark was agreed on by JAMB registrars, VCs, Rectors and other stakeholders, the outcome concluded is that the JAMB Cut Off Mark for Polytechnics is 100. No Polytechnic in Nigeria is expected to set its official cut-off marks for admission below 100. But are allowed to increase it.

JAMB Cut Off Mark For Colleges of Education.

The JAMB Cut-off Mark for Colleges of Education is the same as Polytechnics in Nigeria, and it’s 100. No College of Education in Nigeria is expected to set its official cut-off mark for admission below 100. But can increase it, not decrease it.
